Chris Prescott Named Big 5 Baseball Player of the Week
March 26, 2008
PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's junior righthander Chris Prescott was voted the Philadelphia Big 5 Baseball Pitcher of the Week on Wednesday. The voting was conducted by the head coaches and sports information directors at the city's five Division I baseball-playing universities. Prescott threw four innings last week, earning a win and a save while piling up eight strikeouts and compiling a 2.25 ERA. He earned the victory in SJU's 7-5 come-from-behind triumph over Villanova by pitching scoreless eighth and ninth innings. On March 21, he notched the save as the Hawks defeated George Washington, 10-8, in the second half of a doubleheader. John Rickards of La Salle was named the Player of the Week. SJU's Jeremy Jakubowski (2/26), Mike Boyland (3/5), and Ryan McDonald (3/11) are previous winners of the Player of the Week honor.
