PRINCETON, NJ - Saint Joseph's graduate and former rower Jim O'Connor `02 has been named one of the coaches for the United States women's rowing team that will compete at the Pan American Games this summer in Brazil, it was announced by U.S. Rowing.

O'Connor, a native of Philadelphia and graduate of St. Joseph's Prep, rowed for the Hawks for four seasons and served as team captain his senior year.

He just completed his first season as the women's lightweight varsity coach at Georgetown University. For three years prior to that, he was the freshman lightweight coach at George Washington University.

The rowing competition will be held July 14-19 at the Lagoa Rowing Center in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Heats and repechages, or second-chance races, will be held July 14-16, with finals being held July 17-19. The U.S. will be competing in all 13 events.
