A two-time Hawk captain (1989 and 1990), Fitzpatrick helped SJU to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, advancing to the second round three times. Saint Joseph's also claimed three Big 5 titles (1987-88-90) during her tenure. Fitzpatrick, who brings over 15 years of basketball experience to Griffin's staff, will be in charge of opponent film exchange, compiling scouting reports and assisting in team travel plans. She also will assist with the Hawk Hill Roundball Club, Saint Joseph's women's basketball booster organization, as well as the Kids Club and team promotions. Since graduating from Saint Joseph's, Fitzpatrick has served as director of Fitzpatrick Basketball Camps and Clinics, and recently assumed the role of president in 2003. An assistant coach at George Washington University from 1997-99, she also has spent time coaching in the high school ranks at Cardinal O'Hara and Georgetown Visitation (Washington, D.C.). Fitzpatrick currently resides in Drexel Hill, PA with her husband Bill and children Kathleen (12), Joseph (10) and Jack (6). |
