PHILADELPHIA - The Quarterfinal Round of the 2008 Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship has been delayed Saturday due to rain on the court at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse. he Quarterfinal Round of the 2008 Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship has been delayed Saturday due to rain on the court at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse. The first game between Temple and Richmond is scheduled to begin at approximately 1:35 p.m.

As of now, the first game between Temple and Richmond, originally scheduled for Noon, has been pushed back to 1:35 p.m. The situation is being looked at every half hour to ensure the safety of the student-athletes. Today's games will still go on, beginning 23 minutes after the conclusion of hte preceding game.

The opening game of the Quarterfinal Round was scheduled to begin at Noon ET, but leaks in the roof at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse coupled with a heavy amount of rain brought by severe thunderstorms in the Philadelphia area has caused water to form on the court.

Saint Joseph's was scheduled to play Xavier in a Quarterfinal game at 6:00 p.m., but that will be pushed back as well because of the day. Check www.sjuhawks.com and www.atlantic10.org for continued updates on the delay.
