Wrublesky Named Atlantic 10 Field Hockey Rookie of the Week

PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's freshman standout Jen Wrublesky was named the Atlantic 10 Field Hockey Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week on Monday. Wrublesky's efforts helped lead the Hawks to two wins, including an upset of ninth-ranked American University on Sunday. For the week, the rookie scored two goals and notched one assist for five points. On Wednesday night in Easton, Pa., Wrublesky scored the second SJU goal in a 4-2 victory over Lafayette. She also assisted on junior Marisa Pizzi's game-winner early in the second half. On Sunday afternoon, Wrublesky scored the game-winning goal 8:46 into overtime as the Hawks stunned the #9 Eagles on their home turf, 2-1. The win was the fourth in a row for Saint Joseph's, and the second of the season against a ranked opponent. Wrublesky leads the Hawks in scoring this season with four goals and 10 points. Her two assists are third on the squad. Next up for the Hawks are the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Friday, September 28. Game time in Piscataway, N.J. is set for 7:30 p.m.
