Two Hawks Earn NFHCA All-Regional Honors

Nov. 14, 2007

PHILADELPHIA - The National Field Hockey Coaches Association named its 2007 Division I All-Region teams on Wednesday, November 14 and two Saint Joseph's field hockey players were honored with All-Mid-Atlantic accolades. Freshman forward Jen Wrublesky was selected to the First Team, while senior defender Katie Young was chosen for the Second Team.

Wrublesky had a standout freshman season on Hawk Hill, leading the team in scoring (10 goals, four assists, 24 points) and garnering All-Atlantic 10 First Team honors. She was the only freshman on the First Team and was named the conference's Rookie of the Year. Wrublesky led all conference rookies in scoring and was third overall. She tied for second in the Atlantic 10 in goals and game-winning goals as well.

Young played in 80 games over the course of her four-year career, tying her for the most in program history. This season she was second on the squad with eight assists, a number that also ranked her third in the conference. She was also named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team for the second year in a row.

Both players will now receive consideration for All-America honors.

The SJU field hockey team will have its annual awards banquet on December 9.
