Women's Rowing Bests Drexel and La Salle at Shoreboy Regatta
Nov. 4, 2007
PHILADELPHIA - The women's rowing team competed at the Shoreboy Regatta, which was moved to the Hawks' home course on the Schuylkill due to an unfavorable forecast for Ventnor, N.J. in the wake of Hurricane Noel. The Hawks raced local and Dad Vail foes Drexel and La Salle on the day. "This was as great opportunity to square off head to head with strong crews from La Salle and Drexel. Racing was close, as we expected it to be. It was also a great opportunity for us to mix our varsity and freshmen rowers together and let them go out and compete," said SJU coach Gerry Quinlan. Quinlan was also pleased that the Hawks won both the Eights and Fours competition, and felt "it was a great way to wrap up the head race season. The Hawks are back in action at the Frostbite Regatta on November 10, racing in the Freshmen events and Varsity Doubles. SHOREBOY REGATTA RESULTS Fours: SJU B 17:27 SJU A 17:38 LaSalle 19:31 Eights:
