Softball's Darreff and Rosenwinkel Lead Nation in Batting Average and Doubles

PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's sophomore Brooke Darreff and junior Erika Rosenwinkel enter this weekend's softball regular season finale at Charlotte leading the nation in batting average and doubles, respectively.

An All-American candidate, Darreff leads the nation with a .500 batting average and has posted a team-best 51 hits, 31 RBI, 15 walks and 67 total bases. Starting all 37 games this year for SJU, Darreff has reached base safely in 35 of those contests. Darreff also ranks fifth in on-base percentage (.574), 34th in doubles (0.32) and 60th in slugging percentage (.696)

Tied for second-most doubles in SJU single-season history, Rosenwinkel tops the nation in doubles per game at 0.46. the junior outfielder currently stands second on the team in hits (38), RBI (25) and batting average (.333)

Also ranking among the national leaders are junior Dani Gonzales (strikeouts, walks and ERA) and freshman Dana Bieniek (runs per game and toughest to strikeout).
