Teuber Dashes to 200m Record; Women's Track Finishes 18th
April 6, 2008
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Saint Joseph's women's track & field teams turned in solid performances in the Colonial Relays this weekend. Jordan Teuber set a new 200m-dash school record for the second consecutive meet on Friday afternoon. The Hawks finished in 18th place for the weekend. Teuber doubled in the 100m- and 200m-dashes, sprinting to impressive performances in the highly competitive meet at William & Mary. Running a time of 24.80 was good enough for sixth place. Her time of 12.37 in the 100m-dash preliminaries, which saw her place 10th two spots off of qualifying for the finals, was just 0.05 off of making the finals. The women also received a strong performance from freshman Nohjay Nimpson in the javelin throw with her fourth-place finish backed by her throw of 123' 4'' (37.59m). Nimpson also provided the Hawks with a solid showing in the triple jump placing ninth with a jump of 35' 3 1/4'' (10.75m). Saint Joseph's placed in the top-ten for all the relays they competed in, showing three eight-place finishes and one 10th-place finish. The 4x100m, 4x800m, and 4x1500m Relays were the eight-place showers while the non-traditional outdoor track 4x200m relay came in 10th. The Hawks will travel to Virginia again next weekend to compete at the Onesty Invitational hosted by the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. 100m Dash Prelims 100m Hurdles Prelims
