The Women's Track 200 Meter Dash Record Falls Again and Two Relays Qualify for ECACs at UVA
April 12, 2008
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The Saint Joseph's women's track team ran two relays, both of which ran ECAC-qualifying times at the Lou Onesty Invitational on Saturday. The 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter Relays both ran season bests en route to the ECAC-worthy times finishing sixth and fifth, respectively. Two individuals also earned medalist positions in the 200m and the 3k with Jordan Teuber setting the 200-meter school record for the third consecutive week. The two relays were impressive, each besting their seed times, especially the 4x400m by considerable amounts. The 4x100m finished sixth in a time of 47.82. The 4x400m, on the other hand, was a spot better with its fifth-place showing running a time of 3:50.87. The duo of Nicole McMullen and Teuber were a steady force in the individual side of the meet in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. Teuber (24.64, a new school record for third straight week) won the 200m by .03, while McMullen (24.99) was just .35 behind her teammate in fifth place. McMullen took ninth place, Teuber 14th place in the 100m, running times of 12.31 and 12.43, respectively. Amy Rhein competed in the 3,000m in third place with a time of 10:38.17. Rhein's third place finish was the next best after Tueber's win, of all Hawks on Saturday. Kristin Andrews placed sixth in the 400m Hurdles (1:04.23). The track & field squad will travel north to Princeton, N.J. to compete in the Larry Ellis Invitational next weekend in a final tune up to Penn Relays the following week. 100m Dash
