April 19, 2008
PRINCETON, N.J. - The Saint Joseph's women's track team saw marked improvements in its competition at the Larry Ellis Invitational hosted by Princeton this weekend. Jordan Teuber broke her 200m school record for the fourth consecutive week, while Nicole McMullen posted a season best in the long jump. The 4x100m Relay impressed, too. Teuber finished second in the 200m dash in a time of 24.61. It's the fourth consecutive week in which the 200m dash school record has been broken by the senior captain. Teuber also finished fifth in the 100m, completing the dash in 12.31. Teuber finished her day as the opening leg of the 4x100m relay which ran a season best 47.61, an ECAC qualifying-time that SJU had already achieved the previous week at UVA. Also on the fifth-place relay squad was Kierstin Quinn, Kristin Pierce, and Nicole McMullen. McMullen impressed in the 200m dash running a personal best of 24.93, good for seventh place. In the long jump was just a half inch off from winning the event with her jump of 18' 8 ½" (5.70m), good for second place. Another top finish was put in by Jessica Di Cicco (third) in the 3,000m run. The Hawks will stay in Philadelphia this week as they take part in the three-day Penn Relays Carnival at Franklin Field in their final tune up before the Atlantic 10 Championships at UMass.
