Hawk Women Finish in 17th Place at NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals

A young Hawk squad finished 17th at the Lehigh-hosted NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional meet Saturday afternoon. Junior Andrea Florida completed the 6,000-meter course in 21:48, earning 47th place. SJU totaled 467 points, just behind Monmouth (464), while Princeton won the women's event with 56. Georgetown's Melissa Grelli won the race in a time of 19:50. Freshman Aimee Chegwidden ran to a 90th place finish in a time of 22:34, and sophomore Anna Cushing (22:58) was just 24 seconds behind in 110th. SJU kept the pack tight as junior Amy Rhein was five places later in 116th running 23:08 and junior Juli Stensland was 127th with a time of 23:20. Not much farther back was freshman Christina Morelli (141st) in a time of 23:47. Laura Faller completed the Hawk lineup in a time of 24:13 in 155th place. The Hawks travel to Van Courtlandt Park next week for the ECAC Championships.
